Why ICAD Automation?

ICAD has the experience and technical knowledge to bring your chemical batching controls from concept to completion.  Where many integrators and electrical contractors claim to work in the chemical industry, few can say they have been doing it as long as we have.

What we do

Industrial automation control panel

PLC’s are the core of chemical batching controls.

Whether you have a continuous process, batch process or maybe a mixture of both, we can help.  Our specialty is to develop a holistic understanding of the process (even one consisting of equipment from many different manufacturers) and then design a control system that integrates all aspects of the system into an easy-to-use package for the operators.

We design, build and program all of the control panels, PLC’s and HMI’s in house.  Our seasoned engineers are familiar with all standard brands in the industry including: Rockwell Automation PLCs, Ignition, Siemens, Schneider Electric and others.

Our Process

Our role in projects with chemical batching controls typically starts with the initial design of the electrical and automation systems long before ground is broken.  Unlike many of our competitors, we use in-house professional engineers to design these systems.  This ensures compliance with the latest standards and easy construction permit approval.   We can even work with your mechanical team on a risk assessment to ensure your chemical batching controls are safe and legal–utilizing both mechanical and electrical safety.

We pride ourselves on our ability to execute correctly and deliver quality engineering and electrical work on projects like this that often require teams of engineers and industry experts to deliver. – Joel Ratto, Vice President, ICAD Automation

Not only do we design controls, we can provide complete electrical infrastructure design from 120V circuits up to medium voltage distribution.  We also handle all coordination with the electric utility company, which is typically a tedious and extended process that customers dread.

Our Implementation Process

Chemical batching controls automate this process consisting of many devices, including large motors.

Upon permit approval, our sister company, Lighthouse Electrical is available to install both the electrical and automation infrastructure.  As typically happens with projects of such scale – we rely heavily upon our experienced engineers who knew exactly how each component worked due to specific customized client needs and unique business processes.  If the customer already has an electrician, we are happy to work with them too.

Our customers appreciate that we handle both the design and build of the chemical batching control system.  This eliminates the finger pointing and excessive change orders that can happen between engineers and contractors when they are from different companies. Our remarkable team is able to handle any electrical or automation project, no matter how intricate. From start-to-finish they ensure timely delivery and 100% accuracy at launch. These are the types of project our team enjoys that put our expertise to the test and create lasting client relationships.
