A huge part of keeping our communities safe includes having a reliable water distribution system that is operationally efficient. A municipality in California’s Central Valley understood the importance of maintaining this infrastructure and sought our team’s expertise to upgrade their outdated PLCs and HMIs at three well sites.
The project included the installation of Emerson RX3i PLCs and the addition of logic to the existing program to implement chlorine pumps at all sites.
Project Objectives:
- Upgraded the PLCs and HMIs to the new Emerson RX3i PLCs.
- Implemented new logic for chlorine pumps across all well sites.
- Converted existing programs to be compatible with the newly installed PLCs.
- Provided comprehensive services throughout the project including startup, commissioning, wiring, and programming.

- Logic Addition: Added new logic to the existing programs to control the chlorine pumps effectively.

- Documentation: Supplied detailed documentation for all new programs and system changes.

Conclusion:
The completion of this project successfully upgraded the outdated system which enhanced the operational efficiency and reliability of the wells. The addition of logic to control the chlorine pumps allows for better management of water quality across all sites and emphasizes safety for end-users.
